When I told friends that I was interviewing in-demand drummer Matt Sorum, I kept getting the same response: "Find out what he's actually like." The stick master is best known for keeping the beat for the Cult, Guns N' Roses, and Velvet Revolver, but he shows his softer side on his second solo album, "Stratosphere," out February 25 under the moniker Matt Sorum's Fierce Joy. The follow-up to 2004's "Hollywood Zen" is a highly personal, orchestrated acoustic album. Drummer Matt Sorum comes out from behind the drum kit on \'Stratosphere.\' Download.com chatted with the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer about "Stratosphere," his transition from drummer to frontman and from addict to activist, and his favorite mobile apps. You released your first solo disc, "Hollywood Zen," a decade ago. How is "Stratosphere" different? I had never done anything on my own really, being in a band my whole life especially, so I was in fear of going for it on my own really, the first time around. But I think it's much more my album than the first album. Julien Donkey Boy Torrent Vostfr on this page. I completely produced this album, myself, so it was a very gratifying, cathartic experience. I think I've come a long way as a singer and a writer. Бланк Список На Перечисление Обязательных Пенсионных Отчислений. I think I've changed a lot as a person. My outlook on the world is different. How would you say that you've changed? Well, I've just grown up, I guess. I think as a musician being in a rock 'n' roll band, it just takes a little bit longer; and as guys, moving into Hollywood, it takes a while to grow up. People say that as you get older, you have more outward caring about different things. When you're younger, there's more of a give attention to yourself and where you're going, so I think I'm much more present with world attitudes and what's going on in the climate, with other persons versus myself. The album speaks outwardly more than before. It does have stuff inward. There are songs on the album that talk about loss and family, but there are other aspects that are more caring about other things that are going on outside of my life. Now that you're coming to the forefront as a solo artist, what are fans discovering about you? It's going to be interesting for my fans to listen to the record and see what's under the exterior stuff of being in the rock world and see who I really am. I think rock 'n' roll is a little bit of an act, and you're putting on a particular persona that's bigger than life. I'm always going to look at Slash as that guy, because he has that persona. I step into that role, but the other side of me has a lot of depth that I haven't been able to discover a platform for. I had a lot of songs that I couldn't give to Velvet Revolver or Guns N' Roses, because they didn't fit the format. This is me speaking to all my experiences of being in the world for 53 years and where I'm at now and what I think about. It's a weird thing for folks to think about how precisely Matt can sing, Matt can write songs, and Matt can play guitar. Колокольность В Музыке И Изобразительном Искусстве Доклад. It's a weird thing for individuals because they want to keep you in Guns N' Roses. But as an artist, you have to grow. I've been in a band, watching all these guys go out and make solo records, and I said to myself that now, with social media and the real way the world is and how music gets out there, it's the perfect time for me to do this, because it doesn't matter anymore. What are you going to do, get on the radio and compete against Beyonce? I can't care less about that. Скачать Тему Iphone Для Nokia 5228. I want to make music for pure satisfaction just, which is why I got into music in the first place. That was very freeing and very cool, man. And who is Matt Sorum? My personality is that I'm really a survivor. I'm not saying I'm the greatest drummer in the world, but I always looked at myself as I gotta be that guy. I'm fun to be around, easy to be around, I'm on time, I got my look together. I try to be a team player for the band always, the foundational kind of guy, and from all the mistakes my bands have made, I've learned from those experiences. I said I never want to be "that guy." I always want to be a fan-friendly guy, want to treat persons with respect always, everybody. That's why I use Twitter. I use UberSocial. I have this amazing connection with fans, which I didn't get on Facebook. The problem for me on Facebook is it becomes too long-winded and turns into people you don't really want to talk to from way back, like stalker weirdos. The thing I love about Twitter is that I'm able to have these short conversations. And even if it starts out with my animal activism, the plain things I do for the community, I'll have a negative person there, and they'll say profanities, and I'll try and use the Gandhi approach and win them over in a way that I make them at least listen to my side of the story -- and it's really fun to do. Environmentalism and animal activism are two of my main passions right now. If you ask persons "What's Matt like?", and maybe they knew me from 15 years ago, they'd say, "Matt's a partier, and he loves to go out, and he goes to strip bars." Yeah, I did all that, and I did drugs and drank alcohol and all that. I traveled the world, and my thing was drinking the alcohol of the national country I was in, but that was a little bit of me trying to take all of it in. But at some true point it was starting to get the best of me, so I quit using drugs and alcohol like six years ago, and then spiritually I've been changing. When I stopped eating meat, a lot spiritually happened for me, too. I felt more open somehow. One of my favorite tracks on the album is "Ode to Nick Drake." This is almost a rhetorical question, but I'll ask it anyway: Why pay tribute to Nick Drake? Thank you. I'll tell you. One of my favorite songs was "River Man" by Nick Drake. That particular song was a huge influence on this album, especially with the orchestration and the real strings. And Nick Drake's story, obviously, was brought out a lot later from guys like Beck and other artists that uncovered him. Download komik one piece 683 bahasa indonesia kelas. He was such a great poet and such a great songwriter that was lost so early in his career, but his music is so viable and so great still. You've backed up such singers as Tori Amos, Ian Astbury, Axl Rose, and Scott Weiland. What have you learned from your interactions with them? Tolerance and patience. The most imaginative frontpeople like Tori and Ian and Scott and Axl [are] always going to be difficult, but that creates a lot of their genius and why they're so captivating onstage. It used to eat me up, like: Why can't you do this or do that? I always looked at it as rock 'n' roll is not that difficult of a job. I learned a lot of things I wouldn't do in my career. Wondershare Dr.Fone For Android Full Crack. I saw a lot of sabotage, a lot of self-sabotage, and I did a lot of that in my own career. A lot of artists come from backgrounds where there's a lot of insecurity and a lot of fear underneath that talent. When you replaced Steven Adler in Guns N' Roses, how were you received by the other band members? I remember hearing, at the right time, that he was being replaced by you because his heroin use had gotten out of control. Yeah, he just couldn't handle it. It's like the old Keith Richards moniker. If you've got the job, if you've got this gift, if you're going to take the drugs, and you can't make the show because you're on drugs, then you're out of the band. Steven went further into the ongoing party aspect. When I joined the band, yeah, we partied, but we made sure the gig came first always. We would pace ourselves before the show always, a couple beers, a couple shots, but never drugs. Drugs came mainly after. Once the show was over, the ongoing party started all night into the next morning, and we prepared for the next show then. But yeah, my drug use and alcoholism got worse, because I wanted to be part of the gang. I was a drinker and did my share of drugs before that always, but this was next level. It was all part of the time. And it all went into what we brought onstage -- a pirate mentality. We're rolling across the country and taking no prisoners and tearing it up, and that's the attitude. We weren't trying to be anything other than who we were at that point in our lives. If you could drum for any artist, who would it be? Hackers full movie in hindi torrent download here. I've always wanted to drum for David Bowie. He's one of my favorite artists, and you could probably hear some of his influence on my album. I could probably do a good job with Led Zeppelin. There were so many great songs in their repertoire. You're always on the road with one artist or another. What are some of the mobile apps that you use most? The main one I'm on the majority of the time is UberSocial. It's the one I use for my Twitter, and I like it because it's a cool-looking version to get into Twitter, and I like it because I can change my page's look and colors, and it's easy to navigate. And the other one I play around with a lot, which I've gotten connected to my Twitter and Facebook, is Instagram. When I started it initially, I wanted to be more artsy; I didn't want selfies on there or pictures of my dog. Recently I've been chronicling my travels or pictures with friends, and you could make your stuff look cool with all this post-production stuff. I don't like Facebook as much as I used to, so I just attach my Instagram to it and post from there. I've got a few cool things on my phone, like I got my Metronome, and I love my Weather app. I'm huge on that because I'm traveling around, and you don't know very well what the temperature is. I just got into Spotify because I've been talking to my record company about how they're going to hook me up on that, and I've been hearing things about Spotify from the artist perspective, but I gotta be there also, so I gotta do it. But I've heard that the artists aren't being paid. But for my solo stuff I'm going to be across the board. I met with my new social media girls just, and they're so next level. Oh, and I love my Uber. I'm a huge Uber guy. Oh, Viber, I like my Viber. The thing that's great is I travel so much, so I use that to make the texts, because you get killed on the text costs, in Europe especially, Asia, or Japan. And I got pretty good reception on the Viber phone calls through Wi-Fi. And I got my Dropbox for my visuals and music ideas then. Then there's Hightail, which is like the old YouSendIt, but it comes through an app. If I'm doing a drum cut, but I need vocals put on it, it's a massive file, so I'll send that through Hightail. But the one I use the most is my Voice Memo. I write all my songs on that now. When I did my album, I had everything on cassettes, and all these rips from the last 15 years on cassettes, and I'm sitting there rewinding. Now I sit at my piano playing ideas, and I'll just ship it to someone over Voice Memo. It's such a great little thing. MyCheckFree, a new application for paying your check at restaurants -- I've used it in New York, and it works pretty well. Congratulations on your recent marriage. Did software play a role in any of the coordination or planning? Hotspot Shield now protects iPhones. Are you kidding? We used Pinterest a lot for wedding planning. When we did flowers, all the flowers come up, chairs -- Pinterest is incredible. We used Etsy then. For instance, we wanted some tactile hand fans, so we went on Etsy for that.

What's your selected innovative app for iPhone or ipod devices Touch? Happen to be you running out of space for apps? What game or app would you like to see on the iPhone? Let me know in the comments! Of Friday fiddling with iPhoto '09 i spent most, and you can read my first impressions here. Saturday on, I spent some major quality time with iMovie '09, and I have to say it's pretty easy to grasp. I'm no professional, and I'll admit that I preferred iMovie HD (or the '06 version) to iMovie '08, but it's not too bad. In fact, I created this short little video of the public pillow fight in San Francisco on Valentine's Day 2007 in about three hours (It could've been shorter, but I spent almost all of the time finding the source material). As you might recall, when iMovie '08 first debuted, there was quite a substantial outcry in the Mac community. Movie '08 was drastically different when compared with its predecessors, without a complete lot of the depth and advanced features to which most Mac users have become accustomed. So much in order that Apple made it a point that you could download iMovie '06 (also known as iMovie HD) for free if you missed all the functionality you lost with iMovie '08. But it appears Apple has listened to user complaints, because iMovie '09 sees the return of many of the features that were missing from iMovie '08. They include dynamic themes, video effects like speed and reverse play, and plenty of new title animations. Easy backups for Mac: Backblaze. And of course iMovie '09 has a couple of new features that help replace the missing timeline. Movie '09's new precision editor Perhaps most interesting of these new features is the addition of a new precision editor window. Right-click on one of your selected clips and select "precision editor" to access it. You will now see that the bottom half of iMovie has been taken over by the precision editor panel. The precision editor essentially lets you "zoom in" on your video clips, magnifying the sequence of the selected video clip as well as the one preceding it. The selected clip is on the bottom while the preceding clip is above it, and the grayed- out areas are where the clips overlap in the transition. This way you can have better control over the way each clip transitions just by clicking the spot you want to cut. You also have better control over the sound track, the title animation, and the sound effects--you can change them or move them around, for example. But we still would prefer a more precise manipulation. For example, we wanted to match up an precise part of a song to a specific point in a video clip. We could only do this after a complete lot of dragging and dropping and trial and error. If a timeline was had by us, lining them up would be a complete lot easier. For better edits and transitions, the precision editor works great, but we miss the timeline still. Movie '09's advanced drag-and-drop, plus plenty more title animations iMovie '09 also features an advanced drag-and-drop tool. In iMovie '08, whenever you dragged a clip into your project, it would just insert it. Now when you drag a clip on top of another clip on your project, you're presented with a few options--insert the clip, replace the clip, or just insert the audio. There are also a few ways you can replace the clip: Cutaway, which lets the video is replaced by you but not the audio; Picture-in-Picture, which fills in the new clip in a tiny little window in the corner of the existing clip; and Green Screen, which lets you place the new clip in front or behind the other clip (provided you shot one of the video clips in front of an actual green screen). If you've ever had a problem with shaky videos, you'll like iMovie '09's video stabilization feature. Just select "Analyze for Stabilization" and iMovie will do its best to analyze every pixel to correct any jerky movements. Bear in mind, though, that if you're utilizing a low-quality camera, it can't fix the blurriness inherent in the hardware. Movie '09 does promise to stabilize most photos, even the types taken in a car or a boat. If you want, you can modify the amount of stabilization in case you want the video to look shakier. Movie '09's advanced drag-and-drop, plus plenty more title animations As we earlier mentioned, themes have come back to iMovie '09. Themes are basically video templates that let iMovie add transitions and titles automatically to your project, without you having to do much to it. If you want, you can go back and manually add theme elements like titles and theme transitions. Movie '09 has six different themes: Photo Album, Bulletin Board, Comic Book, Scrapbook, Filmstrip, and none. I used the Filmstrip theme in my video above, for example. Other video effects include Cartoon, Aged Film, Film Grain, and Vignette. These effects give your videos a nice professional finish, without a lot of work. There are also more than 32 title animations, like Lens Pixie and Flare Dust. You can combine the title animations with animated backgrounds or green screen effects if you want. Lastly, you can speed up or slow down a clip with the Speed change slider. Life '09 is big into maps with iPhoto '09, and it's no different with iMovie '09. There's now a Maps option, which you can access by hitting the globe icon in iMovie. You can pick from a variety of animated maps to show your location, or if you're shooting a travel video, a map can be created by you that animates your journey and make your own mini travel documentary. The last addition to the iMovie '09 application is the ability to edit music, especially when you're making a music video or something that's music-focused. You drop beat markets in a music track, and iMovie '09 will attempt to match the video clip durations to match the markers. Of course if you would like fine-tuning, you can use the precision editor. We're still working on refining the rest of the iLife '09 review, but we'll get some of our screenshots posted shortly. Franchises like Call and Halo of Duty get more marketing dollars than the military budgets of most countries, but a lot of worthy games don't get that kind of push. Steam currently lists over 15,000 titles, so it might in fact be impossible to know all the games out there. Year-end lists like GameSpot's best games of 2015 can help you separate the wheat from the chaff. But for the frugal gamer, we've picked four great games from 2015 that cost less than $20. All have Mac and Windows versions and are 2D, so you should be able to play them on older devices without running into performance issues. And if that's not enough, scroll down for four more low-profile but cool-looking games coming out in 2016. Turn your mobile devices into a walkie talkie here. BroforceDid you play Contra on the original NES? Broforce is like that, multiplied by 100. It's like a side-scrolling action movie, with deliberately over-the-top macho freedom lovers liberating their way through a variety of bad guys with extreme prejudice. Broforce has a couple novel twists. One, you can destroy everything around you to gain tactical advantage. You can chain explosions together, thanks to a proliferation of useful fuel-packed barrels, but you also have to be careful not to blow yourself up. Two, all playable characters are based on action-movie heroes like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone, and Bruce Willis, except here they're known as Brommando, Indiana Brones, Rambro, and Bro Hard. More characters get unlocked as you progress through the game, each with special abilities -- and some sort of Bro in their names. And you don't have to bro it alone. You can play co-op with up to three other friends, online or locally. The Escapists If you're in the mood for some lighthearted prison shanking with improvised weapons, The Escapists is your game. Thanks in part to its 16-bit throwback graphics, this game lets you get up to all types of violent shenanigans while it retains a "T for teen" rating. As its name implies, the game is about staging prison escapes in a variety of scenarios that fall along a range of difficulties. There's also downloadable content (DLC) that will send you to Alcatraz, play through the origin of the A-Team, or let you play a James Bond-esque superspy who needs to get out of a villain's secret lair. There's even a free DLC that lets you escape from Santa's sweatshop, for those of you who are over the holiday season. Templar BattleforceIf you played Space Hulk back in 1993 and came to love strategically whacking aliens with a chainsaw while wearing a full suit of armor, Templar Battleforce is the game that carries this torch. It's obviously influenced by Warhammer 40,000: both games are set in a far future where space marines wear power armor that's reminiscent of medieval times -- as so is their grim devotion to the survival of their people against nasty foes. King Arthur didn't get to contend with hordes of ravenous xenomorphs, but his loss is your gain. Templar Battlefield walks you through its mechanics pretty well, and if you have questions still, there's a whole glossary simply a couple clicks away. You have seven difficulty settings to choose from, the highest of which is a permadeath mode for the masochistic truly. Templar Battleforce was made with a modest budget clearly, but she's got it where it counts, kid. If this game tickles your fancy, the Trese Brothers have a bunch of other mobile games that are highly regarded, all of which have free versions. UndertaleAll of our recommended games have a retro quality to them, but arguably none more than Undertale, which evokes the 8-bit days of the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) from the 80s. There was a specific degree of necessity involved, since this game is more or less the product of a single individual, Toby Fox. But what it lacks in the visual department is more than make up for in charm. Undertale is mostly an adventure game, with some environmental puzzles and RPG-style combat. But interestingly, you don't have to kill the creatures you fight. You can convince them to stop fighting you with varieties of flattery, insults, or talking it out just. There are also a number of colorful characters, like a chubby, pun-loving skeleton and a sexy calculator. The last few years have seen a proliferation of indie games whose concepts are unconventional or least not on the industry checklist of "things that make money." We've chosen four that represent a cross-section of the game types and the game developers who intrigue us most and who have the liberty to follow their own muses. Keep in mind that when we're talking about games coming out "next year," some will get pushed further out or canceled altogether. Any of them could become the next Duke Nukem Forever or The Last Guardian. Also, mobile games have advance announcements rarely, so our list is merely for desktops (and one console). HobIn Hob, all of the story visually is told. The player character explores a mysterious open world whose terrain is and evolves packed with ancient technology. Apparently there is no dialogue or text and barely any interface components or loading screens. It's quite a shift from what Runic is known for (a number of its staff worked on Diablo games while at Blizzard). It's up to the player to understand what this world is and how it works, and you might never get all the answers. In an industry of sequels, remakes, and brand licenses, a game like Hob is bold experimentation. StellarisParadox Interactive is mostly known for historical "grand strategy" games like the Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis franchises. These games are more about political maneuvering than pixel pumping, with your portal into the game being a top-down, 2D map. That doesn't sound very exciting on paper, but the available rotten skullduggery can make for evil stories comically. With Stellaris, the developer is moving to a sci-fi milieu. You explore a galaxy that's randomized whenever you play. Paradox claims that each galaxy shall hold thousands of planets that you can actually visit. The developers are planning up to 32-player multiplayer also, so you'll get to see just how sharp your scheming is. Space Pirates and Zombies 2The name alone makes this game sound fun, but if that's not enough motivation, you can buy the original SPAZ for Windows and OS X for just $10 or even download the free SPAZ demo. The first release was a top-down action game where you flew around a galaxy in a modular ship, fighting a zombie invasion. A complete lot more strategy and tactics were involved than the lighthearted name implies; for example, the biggest ship isn't necessarily the best ship, because it also could possibly be the slowest. SPAZ 2 brings a large graphical upgrade, resulting in a pretty game with vibrantly glowing planets legitimately, colorful nebulae, and fancy explosions. The story carries over from the original: The zombies have been defeated, and now the problem is stitching galactic civilization back together (and sweeping up enemy remnants). You'll be vying for control with 200 other simulated ship captains, all of whom are building structures and factions and sometimes going to war. They'll make different decisions every time, so no two games are the same. That's the pitch, at least, but we're pretty optimistic about the results. Underworld AscendantFans of the original Wolfenstein 3D may well not be aware of the pioneering 3D game that came out two months earlier. Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss was directed by Richard Garriott, the famed name behind the Ultima series. Warren Spector, who later went on to make Thief and Deus Ex, was one of its producers. Designer Paul Neurath worked on Descent and System Shock II also, among others. Despite its pedigree, Underworld was in the end overshadowed by Wolfenstein and Doom, but Neurath recently went to Kickstarter to make another (geared for modern technology, not a retro game). Underworld Ascendant is a first-person dungeon crawler that we're told will feature large-scale environment manipulation with simulated physics. Several factions shall fight for control of the land, and you could curry favor with one -- at the expense of angering another. You can also blend the typical roles of fighter, wizard, and rogue, essentially creating your own character class, as in the Elder Scrolls games. A playable prototype demo released in October showed the player funnelling lava through a series of rooms to see where they were going also to keep a darkness-loving beast at bay. For November 2016 ascendant is tentatively scheduled, but Kickstarter estimates are pretty unreliable -- the game might slip into 2017. Foobar2000 has got long been a favorite free of charge substitute audio tracks jukebox for the hard-core customization fan, noted for its odd name and utilitarian program. The program has graduated from garage band status with version 1, which includes some nifty new features that make it more competitive. Foobar2000, personalized and with trails added. The virtually all clear change is definitely the brand-new wording menu composition. Find files easier. It appears much considerably more user-friendly than before, but it's also less customizable. There's as well a color-code system for the position tavern and playlist watch by default, to help them stand out in the default interface, and album artwork support has come substantially closer to the competition. Different changes happened under the hood. CD-ripping enhancements contain on-the-fly databases checking and the potential to split selected rails, as opposed to an entire Disc, in the "Split Audio tracks Compact disk" discussion. There's as well different built-in support for Glass windows Advertising and RTSP buffering, removing the need for those plug-ins. The "edit" menu performs on the current variety as opposed to the energetic playlist, and Tastes sees the intro of the simple but required All right/Cancel/Apply control keys and latest menu styles. Multimedia keyboards should work better with the new Foobar2000, and the lightweight version--which comes from the same installer as the full version--will retain library folder paths relative to the install folder. When you 1st kick off Foobar2000, it's absolutely a lttle bit sparse. Foobar2000 uses tab and individual panels to support the user understand its ordinary, but efficient, customer interface. You can customize the interface using several design options. Menu options and well-known order buttons reside at the major of the display. Two cells, each with tabbed menus, reside on the remaining part of the home window. From now there, you can look at the lp list and the houses of a chosen singer or songs. You'll also find tabs for viewing a spectrogram, a spectrum, and VU meter of music currently being played. The greatest panel displays track lists. Using the menu options, we had been able to pull music documents from a Compact disk effectively, fill them into the player, perform them without issues, and save them as WAVs or MP3h. You can also display album art, and synchronize with lightweight players including iPods. The jukebox helps a large quantity of add-on factors, incorporating advanced decoders, track taggers, and even totally new interfaces. Both amateur and advanced users will love this program's convenient sat nav and uncomplicated design. Although many people might prefer a jukebox that looks more like iTunes, Foobar2000 is highly recommend. Trend Micro's password managing DirectPass offers something new for the category: a restricted, secure browser built in. DirectPass (download) is a new password manager from Trend Micro that promises a battery of features that could shoot it to the top of its class. OpenOffice 3 bumps from beta to RC. The catch? It's not cheap. Yesterday debuting, DirectPass has a lot key options that make a good password manager great. It's got password generation, a 256-bit AES encrypted form-filler, encrypted secure notes, browser integration via add-on, and one-click master password login. The master password include a hint option to help it is remembered by you, but you best not forget it unless you want your passwords locked away permanently. Like competitors, DirectPass syncs across devices and platforms, so you can utilize it on Windows, Android, and iOS. It has keystroke encryption always on by default, and it's got one feature the others don't: a built-in secure browser. Built in-house, the secure browser is created for safely performing financial transaction. It turns off threat vectors like third-party plug-ins and DLLs automatically. DirectPass provides an unlimited trial that lets you use all of its features, but there's a catch: you only get to save five passwords. Upgrading to an unlimited number of passwords will set you back $14.95 for a one-year subscription, or $24.95 for a two-year subscription. If you're not happy with your current password management solution, it's worth testing out simply because you can see what DirectPass does without hamstrings. But seeing as how opponents such as LastPass, RoboForm, and 1Password have identical premium features nearly, and for less, and provide a mighty useful set of features for free, I don't have high hopes for widespread adoption of DirectPass. Most likely, it'll appeal to current Trend Micro users. Everybody benefits when there are more options, but so far DirectPass strikes me as being a little too narrow in its appeal. |
